Starting the Digipak - Ideas

Because we had finalised the song decision on being '10,000 Nights of Thunder' we wanted the design to incorporate the dull greys and blacks you associate with stormy weather as the background and then use the ideas from our main inspiration - Alphabeat - to contrast that with brightly coloured funky clothes so it would stand out and make a statement about the band.

This is the initial idea we had imagined as to what we wanted the front cover to turn out like...

We decided to carry out a photo shoot at the beach and to use the dull sky and rocks as the background and have us wearing multi coloured clothes to contrast this.
We then planned to edit the photos on a programme like Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks to make the background totally greyscale to make an even better effect with the contrast of colour onto black and white.
The arrangements are to go to the beach early on when its still quite dull and take photos on the sand and rocks to get a good variation of shots. We also wanted the shots to represent the band and be energetic, happy and slightly unique.
We all agreed to wear the brightest coloured clothes we could find and not stick to a rigid colour scheme - just a mish mash of all colours.
