Name for our Band

Coming up for a name for the band was easier than we first imagined.
We sat struggling to think of any old name for the band, but soon realised it would be best for the name to be strongly related to the image and vibe of the band - colourful.
We simply put the word 'colour' into an online thesaurus and looked through the results.
We came over words such as;

• shade
• tint
• tone
• dye
• stain
• blush
• undertone
• zest
  
• pizazz
• pigment
  
• paint

One of the words - undertone - stood out to us immediately. We thought it was quirky as you could interpret it as both a tone to do with a shade or colour and tone in the music sense too - which was perfect as our whole project was about a band.
After deciding on this we noticed the word undertone sounded a tad negative so we simply changed the negative 'under' part of the word to its opposite being 'over' and thus we came to the conclusion that our band was going to be called The Overtones.
